Sad songs always seem to be about a love gained and lost. This is a bit about never ever even having touched love in one's life.

Having to feel someones presence in every little thing you see, hear, and touch can be overwhelming. How can someone leave yet still be around you?

When all turns to sand

Many many songs say "I love you" in one way or another. In this song I tried to come up with a way that was bold and different. When you write these songs, the more extreme you say what you've got to say, the better it is. I had to say that I had gotten some inspiration from the events of 9/11 in what I had to say. From some bad there can sometimes be a trickle of good.
